Apoligies for the lack of updates recently. I've been out of action for a while lately due to injury - but expect a lot more interviews soon!

Nevada Base Interview

Nevada Base's songwriting is inspired by the likes of the Beatles and the Smiths, with sounds adapted from 80s synthpop. Recently, the band have experimented with early 80s Italo Disco, early 90s sampling and even a surprising dash of late 90s trance. Albert, Gus and Andy all took some time out to let you guys know some more.

Autokratz Interview

Magnetic electro duo Autokratz release their new album 'Animal' in June as they head to pastures new with their songwriting. The end product is a dynamic record that's a must have for electro fans. HOLV got in touch with David and Russell to see what they're up to.

Kizzy Star Interview

Scottish band 'Kizzy Star' released their debut single in March, with an album in the works. Kizzy Star take the best elements of Snow Patrol and The KIllers producing driving, emotional rock n roll music. HOLV got in touch to with lead singer Tony McGovern to find out more.

Bear Hands Interview

Brooklyn Indie rockers Bear Hands are one the star attractions at this months Rock Ness Festival. Bear Hands might well be described as Indie rockers, but they incorporate a number of styles into their music. The band were also named by the Alternative Press as one of the Top 100 Bands of 2008. We caught up for a quick word with bassist Val Loper with Rock Ness in mind.

Ghostcat Interview

Ghostcat's driving electro-pop sound bears both rock and hip-hop influences and is sure to get people dancing. Their debut single 'Bust is due out on the 1st of June and they will also have a performance role in the French film 'Stretch'. With the album to come later, it was the perfect time for HOLV to get in touch with Ghostcat's enthusiastic vocalist Ali Cat.

Grammatics Interview

HOLV are back with an interview with another fine Leeds Band in the shape of Grammatics. Grammatics released their debut self titled album earlier this year and will tour with Bloc Party in October. Greg got in touch with frontman Owen Brinley to find out about the formation of the band, the album and their future plans.

Meursault Interview

Edinburgh band Meursault combine acoustic guitar, banjo and ukulele with electronic music producing a unique, diverse and satisfying sound. Neil Pennycook took a quick breather from the bands busy UK tour to speak with HOLV about the tour itself, and how the band recorded their excellent debut LP.
